Event Details

Flames of War Weekend Event

Each player must bring a 100 points Late War Flames of War force. If the Early War book has been released by the end of January then players may in addition bring a 100 point Early War force. If both players have Early War forces then they will play an Early War game.

In the usual fashion for Corrivalry, missions will be linked to tables a  mini mission matrix will be assigned to each table so that the stances chosen by players can impact the mission choice. Each table’s mini-matrix will contain several potential missions, the exact one of which is to be played will be decided by player stances.

Each player should define their default stance from Attack, Manoeuvre or Defend and that stance will be used in three of the five missions. The other two stances are to be used once each by each player.

At the start of each round, use the following sequence:

– Draw is announced

– Go to your allotted table

– Check to see if both players have Early War forces if so then play Early War

– Look at the mini matrix

– Choose one of your lists

– Show each other your chosen lists (simultaneous)

– Choose your stances

– Compare your stances (simultaneous)

– Look up mission on the mini-matrix

Players are encouraged, and may well really need to, submit two variations on the same list. The list variation could be to allow a force to cope with more extensive terrain or to be able to take a significantly different stance to the default. There can be a 40% difference between the two lists. The best way to consider what has and has not changed is if something is in both lists then that is common and not a change. For example a platoon of 4 tanks for 20 points in one list and a platoon of 3 of the same tank for 15 in the other with both platoons having the same platoon number from the briefing would mean a 5 point difference or 15 points in common.

There will be 5 games, 3 on Saturday & 2 on Sunday. Games will be 2.5 hours each.
